Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 應用運動科學研究所 === 95 === The primary purpose of this study was to investigate into the participation in recreational sports of the students from senior and vocational high schools in Taichung Taiwan, regarding the motivation and the obstruction of their participation. This study further draws comparisons among different variables to find out the discrepancies among the motivation and the obstruction of their participation. The result could be served as reference materials for the popularization of recreational sports. To collect the data needed, the research instrument adopted in this study was "The Scale of the Motivation and Obstruction of Participation in the Recreational Sports of the Senior and Vocational High School Students in Taichung" Out of the 1260 questionnaires distributed in total, 1033 were returned and 976 were valid, so the valid rate is 77.5%. To analyze the data collected, descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA were used (α=0.05). The results of the study indicate that: 1.The students have high motivation to participate recreational sports. The factor of "stimulus-avoidance" scored the highest, followed by the factors of "social needs". 2.The level of obstruction faced by the students is medium. "Constructional obstruction" ranks the highest, followed by"interpersonal obstruction". 3.Significant difference is shown in obstruction factors between male students and females students. 4.Significant difference is shown in the factors of "health fitness" and "constructional obstruction" among the students in different schools. 5.Significant difference is shown in the factors of "health fitness", "social needs", "intellectual needs", "inner- personal obstruction" and "interpersonal obstruction" among the students in different grades. 6.As for the sum of money spent on recreational sports per month, significant difference is shown in the factors of "intellectual needs", "inner-personal obstruction" and "constructional obstruction". 7.Significant difference is shown in the factor that whether the students join sports clubs off campus or not have an effect on their motivation of participation in recreational sports. 8.Significant difference is shown in the factor that whether the students join school teams or sports clubs on campus or not have an effect on their motivation of participation in recreational sports.
