Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立彰化師範大學 === 物理學系 === 95 === An action study on Infusing Information into 5E Explorative Teaching Materials in Teaching Junior High School Optics 【abstract】 The study pertains to an action study that aims to explore the infusion of 5E explorative teaching materials into junior high optical teaching. The scope of the study entailed uncovering difficulties encountered and solution measures sought during the teaching process following the students complete comprehension of “the information-infused 5E explorative teaching materials”, and then assessing the learning performance and examining the students’ learning perception. With the study’s teaching being divided into two cycles, cycle one’s teaching subjects encompassed the students of a certain eighth graders the author teaches. These students were taught with optical concepts through the experimental teaching materials for a month during the summer school; cycle two’s teaching was coordinated to the school’s teaching schedule of optical concepts. The study tools that the experiment adopted include: the Flash software adopted for implementing the 5E explorative teaching, interview summaries, the 5E explorative teaching perception questionnaire and the prior and post test papers. The study’s data gathering comprised classroom observation videos, student questionnaires, student interview records, teacher’s reflection notes, and learning syllabus for each unit. The data analysis primarily adopted the qualitative analysis, and was further supported by quantitative analysis in an attempt to showcase all pertinent findings of the entire action study. Key findings of the study are as follows: 1. In the design of experiment teaching materials, some of the more complicated programs of learning syllabus and design were modified to enhance the students’ learning yield; in student learning, as students were prone to be distracted, considerations were taken to address the peer factor during the group pairing process; of the students per se, their Internet login proficiency needs to be enhanced; in addition, during the exploration process, the presence of more guidance is deemed helpful in steering the students to conclude the correct results. 2. Joint discussions by all students of the class have been found effective in aspiring the students to brainstorming; in the meantime, the teacher can provide correction to erroneous concepts during the discussion process, and expand the exploration on relevant subjects of the concept, with which to enhance the depth and width of learning. 3. In learning yield, the students’ post-tests were found with significant progress in cycle two, indicating the strategy of improved cycle one teaching has indeed been effective. 4. In learning perception, the students have all held a positive view toward learning with information-infused 5E explorative teaching materials.
