Boon sang yuen displays Chang’s self-experience of life and the desolate state of mind, no matter in its thought, content and aesthetic writing skills. The thesis is composed of six chapters: Chapter One is the introduction. It puts an emphasis on the motivation of the research first, and then the purpose and the methodology. After that, a literature review is provided. And the final section is the organization of the thesis. Chapter Two is the desolate world of Ai-ling Chang, which mainly analyzes the causes leading to her desolate world and induces her life into four phases. There are three main points in Chapter Three. One is the background and the paraphrase of Eighteen Springs. Another is the transformed Boon sang yuen; that is, the differences between Eighteen Springs and Boon sang yuen. The other is the gender philosophy of Boon sang yuen, which is provided to demonstrate the causes of human incompleteness and humans’ tragic flaws. Chapter Four is the analysis of the characters. This chapter divides the characters into the leading characters and the supporting ones, and the analysis is processed through the traits of each character. Also, in order to make it more vivid and more concrete, the skills of “compare” and “contrast” are applied. Chapter Five is the time longitude and latitude of Boon sang yuen, which mainly discusses how the skill of time arrangement and changes reflect the desolate beauty of this novel and what is brought to the readers in terms of the reflection of the inner side. Chapter Six is the conclusion of the previous five chapters. It explains again the desolate life experience’s effects towards the completion of Boon sang yuen. Keywords: Ai-ling Chang, Eighteen Springs, Boon sang yuen. 蔣美華 學位論文 ; thesis zh-TW |
