Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立體育大學 === 教練研究所 === 95 === The purposes of this study were to investigate the influence of regular badminton exercise for 40 to 50 year old males on the items as follow: physical fitness, body mass index (BMI) and bone mineral density (BMD). Subjects (age 45.02±3.40 yrs; height 168.77±5.60 cm; weight72.84±10.22 kg) were divided into regular exercise group and control group. Regular exercise group consisted of 30 badminton amateurs in Taipei and Taoyuan region, and the control group was 30 subjects without regular physical activities. We evaluated the BMI and BMD and physical fitness for all subjects, and the independent samples t-test was used for data analysis. Besides, all data were compared with the norm-referenced data of 40 to 50 year old males of Taiwan. The results showed that: first, the regular exercise group had significant better performance in physical fitness testing than control group; second, subjects with regular badminton exercise had lower BMI and body fat than non-regular physical activity participants; third, regular badminton amateurs had higher BMD than non-regular physical activity participants within the same aged groups. In short, we suggested that the regular badminton exercise had positive influence on BMD and BMI for 40 to 50 year old males, and they would have better performance in physical fitness testing.
