Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立暨南國際大學 === 國際企業學系 === 95 === Title of Thesis:The World Famous “SMEs” from Taiwan Name of Institute:National Chi Nan University International Business Studies Pages:165 Graduation Time:06/2007 Degree Conferred:Master Student Name:Hung, Ching-Tsung Advisor Name:Yeh, Ryh-Song, Ph.D Abstract Taiwanese economy is characterized by a majority of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), of which a very small number are as famous as large ones in international market. This special group of world famous SMEs is the focus of this research. Different from traditional definition of SMEs, this study defines “SMEs” and “world famous” by three parameters: (1) a firm’s turnover was less than NT$ 10 billions in 2003-2006 or its actual capital received less than NT$ 5 billions; (2) it was established in Taiwan and its products are exported; and (3) its world market share was in the top tens. After searching through the Internet, various newspapers and journals, 41 enterprises were identified and became research targets. In the research process, the secondary data related to these enterprises were first gathered and interpreted their key success factors, of which four dimensions were identified, namely managing, research and technology, production and marketing, and entrepreneurial capabilities. The usefulness of these four capabilities was then verified and confirmed by interviews and statistical survey. Finally, suggestions were recommended to business community and research limitations discussed. Keywords:Small and Medium Enterprises, Key Success Factors, Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurship
