To be used effectively in various kinds of Geographical Information Systems, these data need to be reconstructed to become geographic objects. However, the process of reconstructing geographic objects is often time-consuming. The objective of this research is to improve the problems of traditional field survey and to construct meaningful geographic objects on collecting data. This research attempts to design an object-based data collection mechanism using mobile device to assist field survey, and to develop a WebGIS operation procedure based on Object Relational Database (ORDB). In addition, the transmission of data conforms to the standard of OGC GML. Whereupon, users can query geographic objects from ORDB through wireless network, and can also update geographic data collected from field survey to ORDB in real time.
