Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 系統及船舶機電工程學系碩博士班 === 95 === The nonlinear hydrodynamic forces on the twin-hull structures are studied in the paper, which include transverse drifting force and added resistance. The hydrodynamic forces are mainly produced by the ship motions, incident wave potential, diffraction wave potential and radiation wave potential. Based on the three-dimensional source distribution method, the author applies the phase transfer technique and near field method to analyze the corresponding nonlinear forces for the twin-hull structures in waves.
Because of the application of the phase transfer method, only half data, i.e. monohull configuration, for the twin-hull structure are needed for the calculation and the computation time for the corresponding hydrodynamic data can be saved. The numerical models selected here include SAWATH6A, SSP, semi-submersible platform and NPL catamaran ship. All the results are compared with the two dimensional results and existing experimental data. The results reveal that the present indeed improves some unreasonable peak phenomena in the high frequencies region especially for head waves. The present technique is suitable for the twin – hull moving in high speed or the one with light interaction effect.
