Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 物理學系碩博士班 === 95 === In this thesis, the Michelson interferometer setup is used to construct a 2-D optical lattice and a steady state optical field of 2-D lattice is calculated using the MATLAB software to compare with the experimental results. We locked the 780nm,external cavity diode laser to the atomic transition of(_^87)Rb |5S_(1/2),F=2>→|5P_(3/2),F’=2/3> by using the method of saturation absorption spectroscopy to the hyperfine structure of Rb atomic D2 line. The frequency stability is measured from the error signal of the locked laser and is less than 1.13MHz.The locked laser then is directed to form a Michelson interferometer. In order to achieve a stable periodic potential of 2-D optical lattice which created by the interference between the optical fields, we mount one of the mirror on Piezo-Electric Kinematic Mount in one path of the Interferometer. The interference pattern can be observed by detected the interference fringes from the different optical path of the reflected laser lights. Visibility V from the interference pattern is determined to be about 90%.
