Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 地球科學系專班 === 95 === The muddy hot springs in Guan-zi-ling Scenery Area are unique in Taiwan and their utilization is of long history. There are only two natural hot springs available currently in this area. Local business participants have to share these resources through a water tank. In holidays, the current supply of spring water is not enough for consumption, new resources are required. Four exploratory hot spring wells located in the east side of Liu-Chong-Chi fault had been operated. More than 20 million dollars were spent but the discharges are not abundant for utilization. This region is high in geological structure, which is not suitable for groundwater reservoir. This area mainly consists of shale and sandstone which mainly consists of quartz and calcite. The void ratio is between 0.3% and 16.6%; the saturated water content is quite low. The corrected underground water recharge is 0.89×106m³/year. Jingguang Hostel is 256m in elevation, and its normal discharge is 18-37L/minute; Fire King Temple is 268m in elevation and its normal discharge is 4.5-42 L/minute. The data show that the discharge of hot spring water is connected to the geological structure. More abundant hot spring discharge occurs in structure-low regions along the fault zone. To conclude, the potential hot springs should be located in the west side of Liu-Chong-Chi.
