It is a major reference book of the buddhist scripture that incloudes the definition and the pronunciation of the characters from most of all the buddhist scripture. It is mentioned with《Er Ya》and《Shuowen-Jieetzyh》in the Chinese dictionary history. It accumulates a great quantity of characters from the buddhist scripture and the accurate definition and pronunciation notation gives a great deal help to the researcher to understand the middle ancient times Chinese characters. It is a study-worthy text.
Doublet characters means one word has two different kinds or above of writing form. It is used to call“vulgar words.” In Chinese characters history, Doublet characters are many and exist from the very beginning. Therefore, it is necessary to research doublet characters in the Chinese Character Study.
This paper takes the examples of the exchange the meaning symbol of doublet characters from 《Huilin Yinyi》as the research material. I hope this paper can provide a diferent view of doublet characters in Chinese characters, in the mean time, to start a whole new field in the Buddhist Scripture Linguistics.
