碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 國際政治研究所 === 95 === North Korea nuclear problem has existed for many years; however, people can not solve it thoroughly all the time. Although most of the nations in the world are deeply concerned about North Korea nuclear weapons proliferation problem and the damage on the relevant international regime, Japan feels that the nuclear weapons project has increasing threat on its national security with each passing day. Besides, Japan has found that the situations and circumstances of the surrounding area have a complicated change; hence, it’s necessary to do the immediate response from defense and diplomacy. In addition to taking the study of history as the research approach, the article also adopts the deterrence theory to explain the origin of North Korea nuclear crisis. Furthermore, the research analyze Japan’s points of view on the three aspects of safety, politics and diplomacy, and economy from the approach of national interest, including how Japan estimates the influence of North Korea nuclear problem, and the role Japan can bring into full play. Finally, the research uses the approach of foreign policy to explore Japan’s way of responding to North Korea nuclear problem to survey Japan’s substantive actions of policy and intention of policy on the defense, politics and diplomacy, and economic means one by one.
