Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 國際政治研究所 === 95 === This research focus on the changes of US hegemonic role. Its goal is to explore the co-relations between US soft power and its hegemonic status by comparing the situation in three dimensions before and after 911, including global communication, political values and international institution. It suggests that the disregard of the soft power capabilities has led to cut the claws of hegemonic foundation of US since 911: first, the flaws of culture strategy which damage the advantage of global communication have corroded the influences of US culture in the world; second, the illusion of democratic peace theory embedded itself deeply in the corn of US democracy promotion policy has incurred worldwide boycotts because of thrusting its opinion upon other countries; third, unilateralism blurring the US international institution strategies has undermined US influence on operation of international institutions. In other words, to reshape hegemonic strategy in new century US has to balance the capabilities between the hard power and the soft power in its contemporary foreign policy.
