It will cause pipeline fouling and scaling. The accumulation of excrement and urine in septic tank will attract cockroaching and mosquitos to gather and cause environment problems. In our laboratory, the activated sludge was acclimated by oil or oil/surfactant. Then, it was used to treat simulated oil or oil/surfactant wastewater by batch experiments. The same procedures of experiments were followed with the application of bio-reagent. It was found that bio-reagent will increase grease treatment efficiency. Therefore, the same bio-reagent was directly tested at the grease-trap near the restaurant as well as septic tank in Microelectronics Technology (MTI) Limited Company, Hsinchu , located in Science-based Industrial Park. The results showed that the bio-reagents used will efficiently increase the quality of wastewater discharge and reduce dramatically the accumulation of grease and scale in grease-trap and septic tank.
