(d) Inquiring to the effect of the correlation in the life stress, personality trait, parents-children relationship upon the melancholy tendency, academy achievement in the high grade students of the elementary school. The findings were shown as follows: 1. There were significant differences between gender on the environment stress, neuroticism, agreeableness, conscientiousness, independence, depression-dysphonic mood, hopelessness, somatic complaints& psychomotor retardation and academy achievement, girls΄ is higher than boys΄. 2. Significant differences existed in the variable of parents-teacher stress, peer stress, extraversion, low self-esteem & cognition function, and the sixth grader higher than the fifth grader. 3. Significant differences existed in the variable of the mutual trust, and the fifth grader higher than the sixth grader. 4. There were significant differences existing in self-con family economic situation on parents-teacher stress, affective intercommunication, melancholy tendency and academy achievement. 5. There were significant differences existing in life stress on melancholy tendency. The high life stress group is higher than the middle life stress group, and middle life stress΄ group is higher than low life stress΄ group. 6. There were significant differences existing in of parents-children relationship on melancholy tendency and academy achievemet . 7. The variables of peer, neuroticism, intellect, and mutual trust predict the melancholy tendency effectively. 8. The variables of intellect and independence predict the academy achievement effectively.. 9. Life stress and parents-children relationship predict the melancholy tendency effectively. 10.The parents-children relationship extraversion agreeableness effects melancholy tendency significantly. 11.The life stress and conscientiousness effect academy achievement significantly. Based on the findings of this study, the researcher makes some suggestions for teachers, parents and further studies.
