The full-scale chamber model is built with bricks; the size of the floor plan is 5m x 6m, and the interior height is 4m; the sprinkler system on the roof is following the law, and four sprinklers are disposed for the experimental chamber. While the subject is “the different location of the fire in the chamber”, the LPG burner with fixed HRR is used to be the initial fire, and twelve different positions are planned to be initial point in the room, (including three specific locations: the central point of the room; the middle points of the walls; the corner of the room, and some other free locations in the room). Twelve experiments are carried out. The results are compared with each other to confer the effects that the specific locations and distance (the distance between sprinkler and fire) cause that make sprinklers to delay. While the subject is “the different HRR of the fire”, several oil plates with different sizes are used to be the initial fire. There are three sizes of oil plate: large, small and grouping plates, and there are three locations are selected to be the initial fire point (as well as the specific location in LPG experiment). Nine experiments are carried out; the results are compared with each other to confer the effects that the HRR cause sprinklers to delay. The results show that the time delay of sprinkler response is both caused from the distance and the specific location.
