We were understood from the related research by change design microstructure on the light guide plate. Effective improvement efficiency and accuracy that design microstructure develops using simulation tool.
Now, we design the new space-progressive type micro structure of BLM for LCD light guide plate, change the V-Cut to analyze optical characteristic of LCD light guide plate, and get better V-Cut micro-structure type from the analysis result. We apply this procedure to V-Cut light guide plate of 1.8 inches and use the LED as light source for backlight module of side-type. One can analyze and discuss the effect of the variation of its structure parameter, such as pitch (P), angle (θ), depth (D) and the space (S). We divide the bottom plate of light guide plate into several parts, and simulate the luminance distribution of each space plate on the top plate of light guide plate. Then change regularly microstructure to progressive type microstructure. The best parameters on ΔS 0.03 mm, area average luminance 817cd/m2, and the result shows that over 89.3% uniformity is achieved. The results could provide advantage that instructive business to design the BLM for LCD light guide plate with microstructure.
