Summary: | 碩士 === 開南大學 === 公共事務管理學系碩士班 === 95 === Nowadays, the private vocational and technological colleges and universities are facing a critical situation. This thesis will formulate the management strategy for a specific school by analyzing the management strategy of their administrative and academic directors, the related factors of the external environment and internal resources and the orientation of the specific school. The analysis of the research is based on the conceptual description. It illustrates the strengths and weaknesses of the specific school from the viewpoint of enterprise management. In addition, the analysis basis of the thesis is to interview some scholars and experts to get their valuable suggestions.
One specified school in the Taipei area is the case study for this research. The data collection for the case study was by actual observation of the school activities and collecting related documents as well as interviewing ten administrative and academic directors of the specified school by questionnaire. After interviewing in depth with two senior professors who have played a part in the evaluation of the vocational and technological colleges and universities, this thesis got the auxiliary material needed to do further research. The thesis not only analyzes the specific school by SWOT, forming the management strategy matrix after discussing the strengths and weaknesses of the internal resources and opportunities and the threats from the external environment, but also draws up the feasible management strategy. The following is the conclusions from the thesis:
1. To build up the image of the school.
2. To strive for cooperation with industry by offering courses for their employees as
well as working with businesses to conduct research.
3. To regularly conduct community activities, and build up the strategic alliances with nearby vocational and industrial high schools and overseas sister schools.
4. To build up the regional market around the school by using the advantage of the convenience of transportation.
5. To remodel and adjust the departments of the school in order to meet the needs of society and the market.
6. To increase the distance learning curriculum in order to provide students more alternatives to choose from.
7. To improves the benefits for the teachers and the administrators as well as to increase in-service training and encourage them to attend more symposia.
8. To arrange the budget to build up the amount of computer software and hardware and laboratory equipment.
9. To strengthen the recruitment of students and to attract better students.
10. To improve administrative management in order to establish a good management system.
11. To pay more attention to the social environment and tendency, and to adjust management strategy to fit the current environment as well as strengthen the promotion of the school.
12. To strengthen the management of student affairs and improve the teaching methods and skills of the teachers.
13. To participate in overseas expositions and symposia in order to recruit foreign students.
Finally, according to the conclusion of the research, this thesis will make a proposal
for the specified school and give some suggestions for future study.
