Then further discussed the relationship between the patient-doctor relationship and the medical disputes. We used questionnaire survey and the physician rating from multiple sources. Data collected included the physician’s emotional intelligence, patient-doctor relationship and records of medical dispute. We surveyed 119 doctors in the south regional hospital during the period from Aug, 3, 2006 to Dec, 31, 2006. We compiled the list of outpatient visit to compute the outpatient visit quantity form August 2006 to December 2006. The findings of the research are as follow: (1) The medical dispute of male is more than female (p=0.022). (2) The patient-doctor relationship, emotional intelligence and medical dispute have significant diversity in the department of hospital (p=0.002). Regards the medical dispute, the doctors of the surgical department are more than the medical department. The doctors of the medical department performed better in the patient-doctor relationship and emotional intelligence than the surgical department, p=0.001. (3) The results show the patient-doctor relationship, emotional intelligence is negative related to the medical dispute despite the department. It indicates the physician with better emotional intelligence is more likely to have better patient-physician relationship and less medical disputes. To decrease the probability of medical dispute, the hospital should offer emotional intelligence coaching for physicians. Herng-Chia Chiu 邱亨嘉 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 107 zh-TW
