Medical staffs of a certain veteran hospital using hospital information system were studied by conjugated qualitative and quantitative analysis. The aims are to understand the effect of system quality, information quality, and service quality on user’s intention to use/ use and satisfaction. The main research results are as follows: 一、Results from questionnaire: 1. The six main dimensions of a system successful model are made up of “system quality”, “information quality”, “service quality”, “intention to use /use”, “user satisfaction”, and “ net benefits”. Among the six aspects, the survey revealed that “intention to use /use” ranked the highest while “system quality” ranked the lowest. 2. Of the variables of the six main dimensions, the top five are:“you use the hospital information system frequently”, “your intention to use hospital information system is strong”, “by implementing the hospital information system, the public image of the hospital is improved”, “The hospital information system is easy to learn and use”, “the hospital information system increases the staff’s working performance”. The last five variables are in following order:“the hospital information system is seldom crowded and it required no waiting time”, “the hospital information system is very stable, doesn’t freeze often”, “information staffs confirm zero mistakes in files”, “the hospital information system may suits user’s need by expanding and changing via information department or manufacturers”, “the hospital information system produces instant results after inputting commands.” 3.Multiple regression analysis revealed: (1)“System quality”, “information quality”, “service quality”, “user satisfaction ” and “net benefits” have a significant influence on intention to use /use; (2)“System quality”, “information quality”, “service quality”, “intention to use /use” and “net benefits” all have significant influence on “user satisfaction”; (3)“Intention to use /use” and“user satisfaction”have significant influence on “net benefits”. 二、Analysis of interview results showed: 1. The main demand of staff interviewed toward hospital information system is the system quality. 2. Problems about system quality raised by staffs interviewed are : processing time, result congruity, expansion flexibility, system stability, information accuracy, and storage convenience. These results are consistent with the four lowest scoring factors as in quantitative analysis. This research results can provide reference for further development of hospital information system for hospital and information industry and improve further implementation of hospital information system.
