Description
Summary:碩士 === 義守大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 95 === The aim of this study is to examine the relations of parents’ inclination to children’s gender with their information access. Through interview and investigation with qualitative research, we invited several interviewees, including nine students and six student’s parents. From students’ viewpoints, we found out that gender occupied little space when parents considered the household spending on information access. Their consideration included age, interest, education and future job. As to space and time for using the information access, students were abridged, either male or female. As to the operation and maintenance of software and hardware females are not so confident of themselves and interested in this subject as males; also, the former are not encouraged by their parents in using computers. In our interviews with parents, we found out that parents carried out good policy on the management of computer equipment well. While speaking of future trend in the future, development of education and consideration of careers, parents, obviously, agreed to spend more buying computer equipment and its promotion. While speaking of children’s using computer, parents were afraid that their children might spend too much time on on-line games and in communicating with friends in the Internet world. Most of students’ parents took gender into consideration, especially when talking about computers and homepage surfing. They did not expect their daughters to study computer information or to contribute what they had learned to families and society mainly because of their lake of female confidence and traditional thinking to female position. According to the result of study, we gave suggestions to reduce the effect of gender in a family on children’s information learning opportunity.
