Description
Summary:碩士 === 弘光科技大學 === 護理研究所 === 95 === Triage is a system used by the nursing personnel in emergency room(ER) to ration limited medical resources when a number of the injured in need of care exceeds the resources available to perform care. Thus, the priority matters in deciding which patients are both in the most need of treatment and are able to benefit first. Therefore, it is critical for the nursing personnel of ER to have a clear understanding on Triage knowledge and the consistency of Triage judgment and their related factors. Collected from a certain and local university hospital in the central area, the data pool consists of 2000 records from 40 nursing personnel working in ER as the subjects, viewing their medical records with the categorization of patients based on the severity of their injuries identified by ER doctors, and the consistency on the data entries entered by the nursing personnel according to the doctors’ examinations. Conducted in a structured questionnaire, this survey aims to study the nursing personnel working in ER, with background and knowledge on the Triage categorization. By means of SPSS12.0 version for analysis, the results of this study are as following: (1). The probability of obtaining correct Triage knowledge is 62.1%.(2). The consistency on performing Triage judgment is 71.3%. Over-estimated were 8.6%, and 20.1% were under-estimated.(3). Institute graduates have better understanding on Triage than university graduates. The longer they worked in ER, the better knowledge they have on Triage. Furthermore, the nursing personnel of ER with ACLS license have better consistency on Triage judgment. Suggestion: Have More emphasis on Triage to all the nursing personnel working in ER and it is best to have advanced cardiac life support(ACLS) license in performing Triage.
