Through the retelling of life experiences of this participant, this research tries to figure out the difficulties and challenges the participant faced through his life experiences and attempts to find out the development of resilience. The information was primarily collected in in-depth interviewing that was conducted in the field of this participant’s growing environment and was secondarily gathered from the literature. By observations, in-depth interviewing, and interviewing with other people who are relevant to this participant, this research makes an attempt to piece up the whole complete life story of this participant. The result of this research shows that some potential difficulties that this participant reared by her grandparents may face can be concerned in the following perspectives: (a) Psychological Predicaments: unknown loneliness and self-abasement (b) Economical dilemma: the struggles between the realistic economical condition and desires for substances (c) Parenting Predicaments: as time goes by, it is more difficult for grandparents to deal with the rebellious behaviors (d) Learning Predicaments: the frustration comes from learning difficulties (e) Social Isolation Predicaments: for lack of the access to gathering information, yielding the daily living hardship. Even though these difficulties mentioned above indeed exist, it is found that the participant still can overcome and adapted himself to them. And this is resilience of life, which mainly comes from the following three reasons. (a) Positive personal characteristics (b) Charismatic adult in his life: grandmother and teachers (c) Acceptances from his peers. The result and conclusion from this research can provide some useful suggestions for the Institute of Social Welfare, the social workers, and further research.
