Based on the model, the brain activity of depressive mood of the right frontal region is first more active than the left, the right posterior region’s activity then slows down. Further research supported that cognitive bias affects depressive symptoms (Haeffel, 2006; Oei et al., 2005). However, no research discusses the relationship among cognitive bias, perceptual asymmetry and depression. The present study tries to find the relationship between cognitive bias and perceptual asymmetry on depressive personals. There were 128 right handed undergraduate students who completed the Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI), Dysfunctional Attitudes Scale (DAS), Automatic Thoughts Questionnaire (ATQ), Handedness Questionnaire (HQ) and 4 perceptual asymmetry tasks. The results are (1)There are five-factors in DAS and it’s similarity to past research, (2)DAS and ATQ have good internal consistency and test-retest reliability.(3) DAS (exclude imperative) and ATQ can differentiate depressive groups, and also predict depressive symptom when anxiety is controlled. (4)Automatic thoughts, which when anxiety is also controlled become the mediator between dysfunctional attitudes and depression. (5)Emotional word perceptual asymmetry task showed lateralization and the lateralization effect are significant difference in depressive, automatic thought, and need for approval/imperative groups . (6)High and low need to please others/need for approval/vulnerability/ and self-devaluation showed significant difference on chimeric faces task (CFT). The 4 types of chimeric faces on CFT had lateralization, and high and low depressive, automatic thought, and dysfunctional attitudes showed differences in lateralization. Finally, the participants’ characteristic, the limitation in material usage, and the hypothesis related issues were discussed. 卓淑玲 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 234 zh-TW
