A questionnaire survey was used as the tool to collect data. The subjects, fellow workers in elementary schools in Taipei Country in the academic year of 2006, were selected by stratified random sampling. The total number of questionnaires issued was 750 and the returned number was 427, which was at the returned rate of 64.4 % and the effective sample of 56.9 %. The collected data were processed through statistical analysis methods such as frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson product moment. The conclusions of the research were as follows: 1. The work pressure level of the fellow workers in Taipei County elementary schools was moderate, among which social environment scored the highest, followed by personal factors and organizational factors. The least influential factor was the work load. 2. The work satisfaction level of Taipei County elementary school fellow workers was above the average. The fellow workers were most satisfied with the management and least satisfied with the salary and bonus. 3. For the Taipei County elementary school fellow workers, there was no significant difference shown of the variables of gender, marriage status, age, years of employment, diploma, class numbers, and the background of the assistants to Dean of General Affairs in work pressure and other dimensions. 4. For the Taipei County elementary school workers, there was obviously significant difference of the variables of different working positions and promotion in work pressure and other dimensions. 5. For the Taipei County elementary school workers, there was no significant difference of the variables of gender, marital status, age, years of employment and the background of the assistant to Dean of General Affairs in work satisfaction level. 6. For the Taipei County elementary school workers, significant differences in work satisfaction were shown in different education, position, numbers of class and method of promotion. 7. Overall, there was a significant negative relationship between work pressure and work satisfaction for Taipei County elementary school workers. 8. Overall, the level of work pressure of Taipei County elementary school fellow workers had predictive effect on the level of work satisfaction. With the support of literature reviews and research feedbacks, the research provided suggestions to serve as future references for theoretical and practical use for various human resource departments, the Government of Taipei County, school administration departments, and other researchers in the similar fields.
