Summary: | 碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 管理學研究所 === 95 === Since 1994, the banking industry in Taiwan has shift into high competition and getting lower profit because of regional economic crisis, internationalization and liberalization. The commercial banks try to change strategies and organizational structures to adapt to the new market environment. However, they have repetitively experimented with both branch system and regional center system because of organizational communication issues. This search tries to explore the relationship between organization types, communication models for different structures.
The inference of this study is: The fitness between the organization type and communication model of local commercial banks’ corporate banking will affect their communication effectiveness. The research objects are the 16 local private commercial banks whose market shares in corporate banking are among the top 80 percent in Taiwan. Questionnaires were distributed to the corporate banking staffs of these banks, and the following conclusions were reached after an in-depth
analysis of the 367 valid questionnaires that were collected:
1. The communication models of the local banks’ corporate banking can be categorized into four types:
a. Low interdependence defensive
b. Low interdependence supportive
c. High interdependence defensive
d. High interdependence supportive
2. One can find out through this study that the influence of the “fitness between organizational type and communication model” on “communication effectiveness” is significant; the influence of “communication model” on “communication quality” and “general organization perspectives and organizational integration” is significant; the influence of the “fitness between organizational type and communication model” on “general organization perspectives and organizational integration” is significant, but is insignificant on “communication quality.”
3. Regardless whether branch system or regional center system is adopted, the communication effectiveness of high interdependence defensive is much better than low interdependence defensive. In addition, no matter whether the communication flow is high interdependence or low interdependence, the communication effectiveness of communication climate that is supportive is better than that of defensive.
