碩士 === 輔仁大學 === 經濟學研究所 === 95 === Abstract In recent years, the Free Trade Area（FTA）has been developing high in Asia. But it’s very difficult to conclude a FTA that became a regional trading blocks with member countries for Taiwan. In literature, there is a negative effect, trade diversion, to crowding out nonmember countries exports. In order to argue that export of Taiwan is diverted in Regional Trading agreement（RTA）and compare with China, Japan and Korea. I utilize the gravity equation augmented with dummy variables for regional trading blocks in two different models. One is the static, standard gravity model to examine the effect of regional blocks on the level of exports from these four countries in 2002; the other is the dynamic, partial-adjustment model to examine the effect of blocks on the changes in exports for the period from 1993 to 2002.
