Through this study, we expect to present some key points of counseling enlisted men on the issue of affections by analyzing the progression of their love affairs. The purpose of the research is to make suggestions, as reference for the military mental health staff, on how to help enlisted men to deal with the matter of breakup during their military service. The study analyzes the progression of enlisted men’s love affairs as well. The main subjects of the study include the factors that lead to breakup, the adaptation after the breakup, the personal meaning of reflecting on the breakup, etc. Through analyzing the progression of enlisted men’s love affairs, the findings present some key points of counseling enlisted men on the issue of affections. After interpreting and analyzing the five cases in this study, we found the common path of their love affairs as below and concluded as the following titles: I) The process of romance (1)The phase of togetherness - the days of getting along (2)The phase of separation - the process of breakup (3)The phase of reconstruction - growing up after the loss (4)The phase of rebirth - the reminiscence and reflection II) Influences in the process of adaptation (1)Push and pull - the assistance and hindrances in the army (2)Backing –the capacity of support (3)Healing - ways of adaptation This study is also focused on the unusual military society, proposing the essential points that can better help enlisted men to face the aftermath of being lovelorn in practical ways. I) Ways of counseling: (1)The phase of denial (2)The phase of disorder (3)The phase of reconstruction (4)The phase of rebirth II) Ways of organization management and education: It’s recommended that in the army, there could be more flexibility while assisting enlisted men losing their loves. Also the ways of adaptation should be taught by giving lectures in public which are themed with “being lovelorn in the army” during the time of mental health guidance. And the first line supervisors should be educated to understand the mental experience of the enlisted men suffering breakup in the army and should be educated to help those facing different phases of breakup.
