A、Understand the work pressure felt by the I-Lan province newly appointed principal at present. B、Understand coping strategy adopted when facing with various kinds of work pressure by the I-Lan province newly appointed principal. C、Understand relevant factors that will affect the work pressure of the I-Lan province newly appointed principal and coping strategy. Conclusions obtained from this research are as follows: A、Source of work pressure of newly appointed principal: (a)Heavy pressure brought to the school and the newly appointed principal by performance examination of the higher authority. (b)The pressure felt by the newly appointed principal from his/her subordinates comes from the school organization atmosphere and secondary it is the administrative manpower allocation and adjustment. (c)The concern on the school development by the locality and the establishment of community public relationship will bring heavier pressure on the newly appointed principal. (d)The source of pressure on the operation performance of the newly appointed principal mainly comes from competition among schools. (e)For the expectation on the role of the newly appointed principal and the internal conflict, the pressure brought by the difference in role is the heaviest and secondary is the pressure formed by too high self-expectation. B、Coping strategy of the newly appointed principal on work pressure: (a)When facing with pressure from higher authorities, major methods adopted by the newly appointed principal include searching for support from various sectors and self- ajustment. (b)When facing with the pressure from subordinates, a good way for the newly appointed principal is rational communication and procrastinate the handling. (c)When facing with concern and pressure from the locality, the newly appointed principal will actively participate and coordinate and will seek for help from local personage in order to transform obstruction into aid. (d)When facing with the pressure of operating performance, the newly appointed principal will analyze the strategy on how to enhance the competitive strength of the school and will discuss with colleagues on the best implementation method. (e)When facing with the anticipation on the role and lots of internal conflict and pressure,a good way to release pressure for the newly appointed principal is to conduct adjustment on one’ own frame of mind and to seek for aid and support from outside sector. C、Relevant background factors affecting the work pressure of newly appointed principal and coping strategies are: (a)The work pressure felt by female newly appointed principal is higher than male newly appointed principle and the degree of feeling on the work pressure by the moral integrity characteristics are more deeply affected by personality and individual factor. (b)Following the increase in age and number of years of service of the newly appointed principal and the increase in experience and background, the lower the degree of feeling on the work pressure is, the better will be on the ability of dealing with contingency. (c)The younger is the age of the newly appointed principal, the heavier will be the pressure generated from the feeling on family factor and it is difficult to take care of the development of the school affairs and family life at the same time. (d)Although the academic background of the newly appointed principal has no direct effect on work pressure, however, this will affect the newly appointed principal incessantly on school administration leadership, decision model and method. (e)The larger the scale of the school is and the closer to the city center is, the more source of pressure on the newly appointed principal will be. The longer the time of communication and coordination, the coping strategy will be more complex. (f)When the campus culture is different, there will be difference in the interactive method. The newly appointed principal should blend into the group and should further affect changes and establish high quality campus culture. Finally, based on the research conclusion, relevant suggestions are presented to the primary school newly appointed principal, education administration unit and future researchers.
