Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 通訊工程所 === 95 === Wireless sensor networks are used to detect environment information. Sensor nodes consume lots of power for data transmission. Multi-hop routing scheme can be applied to reduce overall power consumption. In addition, a simple scheme – flooding scheme can be applied to simplify data transmission in wireless sensor networks. It is not necessary to maintain route information using flooding scheme. Network topology does not affect the transmission scheme also. For high-density wireless sensor networks, redundant transmission is caused and wastes node power and channel bandwidth. Gradient flooding scheme is proposed in this investigation to reduce the broadcast storm, to improve transmission efficiency, to save node power, and finally to extend network lifetime. Results from NS2 simulations show that gradient flooding scheme provides a good transmission scheme for wireless sensor networks. Forwarding packets in networks are reduced for 20~35% and node power are saved for up to 25%.
