This paper uses Optimizing the PEM Fuel Cell Circuit Parameters by Genetic Algorithm. The circuit parameters of proton exchange membrane fuel cell changes with operating temperature and current density; some circuit parameters are quite nonlinear. To totally understand the circuit characteristic of proton exchange membrane fuel cell, this study uses Penalty-Function Genetic Algorithm method to do optimal estimation of the circuit parameters by data from V-I characteristic experiment on self-made fuel cell and then solve the circuit characteristic by the estimated circuit parameter formulated with KIRCHHOFF’S LAW. Then, the estimated V-I characteristic is compared with the result by actual measuring to verify the feasibility of this method. In the same way, current equivalent circuit of proton exchange membrane fuel cell can be solved with estimation of the current parameter of the fuel cell.
