Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 財務金融學所 === 95 === This paper tests hysteresis effects in unemployment using panel data for Taiwan age category covering the period 1978/01~2007/02. The validity of the Hysteresis hypothesis is examined through the use of both ADF and unit root break tests. This paper will divided into three parts: workers, male workers and female workers. As a whole, after combining structural breaks with panel data, the results from all tests provide evidence that based on Taiwan age category unemployment data the hysteresis hypothesis can justifiably be rejected. These results indicate that the unemployment rate tends to revert to its equilibrium in the long run after a shock.
