Summary: | 碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 光電研究所 === 95 === A novel optical fiber humidity sensor with some calcium chloride solution being the sensing material has been proposed. The calcium chloride solution is coated on a small portion of the neck region of a bent single-mode fiber taper, and its weight percentage affects the performance of the sensor. It is found that the optical fiber humirity sensor presents a good quality at the 45% weight percentage of the calcium chloride solution. Its humidity measurement range can be from 43%RH to 100%RH, and its blow response optical power is larger than 210 μW with response time being about 2.2 second. Its humidity response curve shows high linearity and no hysteresis. This new type of optical fiber humidity sensor has high performance in sensing humidity and conquers some shortcomings of the conventional ones.
