碩士 === 大葉大學 === 造形藝術學系碩士在職專班 === 95 === In Chinese history no one devoted his whole life to the creations bythetheme of the rurallife as Chi Pai-Shih did. He grew up in a poor and rustic family, and had been educated for only one year. He just started to study Tang Poetry since he was twenty-five years old. Apparently his equipment for Chinese literature was not sufficient but he studied and worked hard with his whole life contrarily. He was not only insisted on his creating continually but also represented himself on his paintings confidently. Although his knowledge of literature is not great, each of his paintings revealed the literator style mostly. He was conversant with scholars actively. Distinctly he didn’t forget what extraction he came from, and kept creating his painting in fully rural style since he had already been promoted to the literatus beau monde successfully. The story of Chi Pai-Shih’s hard working in his whole life moved people. His creation style revealed what extraction he came from belauded people. Both achievements accomplished his unique creation style of elegant and vulgar complex, which established his stable status in painting arena until now.. Furthermore he was enthroned and honored by people internationally. This research aimed to study Chi Pai-Shih’s works, paintings of Chicks. The content of the thesis is addressed as following. The first chapter includes five sections. Motivation, purposes, range, methodology and limitation of the study, and the definition of terms, are disserted separately. In chapter two it introduces historical background and events occurred in Chi Pai-Shih’s life. It includes three sections, historical background of China where Chi Pai-Shih had been, the important events occurred in his life, and the factors which formed his creation style of painting. In chapter three it disserts Chi Pai-Shih’s experience of rural life included two sections. Chi Pai-Shih’s poems and articles about rural life are explored in first section.The use of Chi Pai-Shih’s rural life experiences as the theme of his painting creation is discussed, and his sentences written on his paintings represented his mood are then explored in the second section. In fourth chapter Chi Pai-Shih’s paintings of chicks were analyzed with other paintings of chicks in different. Chinese eras by comparison analysis. It includes two sections. Different types of paintings with the theme of chicks, in different eras, are first addressed. .The results of comparison analysis between Chi Pai-Shih’s .paintings of chicks and other paintings of chicks of different Chinese eras are then presented in the second section. There are also two sections in chapter five. It presents the results of comparison analysis between Chi Pai-Shih’s paintings of chicks in his different creation periods. In first section it introduces Chi Pai-Shih’s paintings of chicks in his. different creation periods. It then presents the results of comparison analysis between Chi Pai-Shih’s paintings of chicks in his different creation periods in second section.. Chapter six is the conclusion of the study. The influence. and value of Chi Pai-Shih’s. painting style of chicks.for people are both disserted in this chapter finally.
