Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 造形藝術學系碩士在職專班 === 95 === ABSTRACT The study is researched with 12 famous western paintings which belong to 12 different painters with different styles. The investigative method is Semantic Differential Technique, in order to get the common and the art classes students’ impression of the paintings ( replica ). Students always listen carefully to teachers only for the relative knowledge. However, what are their own emotional reaction and impression? The 12 selected paintings include the masterpieces of Podesti, Picasso, Munch, Gogh, Dali, Miro, da Vinci, Seurat, Rousseau, Monet, Matisse, and Vermeer. The investigative objects are 356 students ( 211 students in the common class and 145 ones in the art class). The relative objectives are evaluated with seven stages ordered measurement table, 16 pairs from the 50 standardized bipolar adjectives of Semantic Differential Technique which was created by C.E. Osgood Professor. During the investigation, the researcher visited three different schools for giving interpretation and questionnaire. The data processing is the SPSS10.1statistic software process analysis The final conclusion is that the students in the common and the art classes love the concrete paintings better than the abstract ones. Most of the students have the positive psychological image to the concrete paintings, and the negative ones to the avant-garde or concrete ones.
