According to many published literature, application of laser beam to the human acupoints can induce biochemical reactions which activates the meridian accordingly. Devices based on laser were developed gradually and become basic instruments for acupuncture treatment in hospitals. Portable models of this kind of instrument, however, are seldom seen. Our project designs are based on extensive clinical experiences from many working professionals. Using a laser source of wavelength 655nm and power of 5 mW/ cm2, we developed a portable and modularized laser acupuncture faceplate system to stimulate acupoints on the face and achieve therapeutic effects. The research work has been organized as, developed the prototype of system, written the coding of chip, experimental and clinical application. The system is designed by considering face position for comfortable and specific applications. Therefore we select the material of ABS to make the prototype in RP machine, in order to meet a few amount of demand that change more. In the circuit of control, we use CPU-89C51 as the main controller and use the DAC to control the amplitude of the output voltage. In order to control the intensity, time, and orders of the laser light beam, this demultiplexer controls the point position for presenting varieties. The course of medical treatment is set up into a database of the micro-controller, and we can design the portable module of treatment system for different patients. In the relaxing experiment of weariness, when the total energy quantity of low power laser received by the shallow layer of face skin acupoint is about 0.55 J/ cm2, there are two good effects about fatigue dissolving and muscle relaxing, simultaneously, the response of Ryodoraku is very obvious under this situation, and the effect is good in the clinical report of the treating with our system for auxiliary, therefore, we verify the effect of the diagnosis successfully by using the system.
