We propose a mobility management scheme based on communication status for reduction of Active-BU traffic in Hierarchical Mobile IPv6 (HMIPv6) networks. We also propose an autonomous load balancing scheme based on load status of MAP. In our mobility management scheme, we combine the number of connecting CNs of a MN with its speed as the parameter (Score) for choosing MAP. Low speed MNs having a large number of CNs are managed by high-level MAP, so Active-BU can be reduced. Moreover, our load balancing scheme for MAPs can autonomously let high-level MAPs deliver MN’s objects witch are in low active-status to low-level MAP when a concentration of the load to a certain high-level MAP is caused. The contributions in this thesis are as follows: (1) We consider about not only MN’s speed but also MN’s the number of connecting CNs. Thus our scheme can realize the reduction of the number of Active-BU. (2) Based on considering about load status of MAP, we also propose an autonomous load balancing scheme for MAPs. The result of our research in this thesis will be much helpful to improve the quality of services to the MNs and load balancing of MAPs. Shih-Hsiung Twu 涂世雄 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 60 en_US
