碩士 === 中原大學 === 宗教研究所 === 95 === There is important turn in twentieth century philosophy which is linguistic turn. No matter regardless the turn is started by continental philosophy or analytical philosophy, the turn has great impact on twentieth century philosophy. And Gadamer also inherits the turn. In the third part of his most famous work: Truth and Method, he develops the ontological shift of hermeneutics guided by language. But, What does Gadamer mean when he develops the ontological shift of hermeneutics guided by language? In other word, how does the universal medium, which is language activity possible in understanding? And moreover, how can we understand language itself in language? How can we speak language in language? So, this thesis will be upon the Truth-Event of the Word: Incarnation to research. Therefore, as a work of history of concept research, this thesis will start from: The Hermeneutics of Conversation, discussing the subject matter of language in conversation first. And then, using Palto’s Cratylus as a reference to analyze the relationship between word ( Wort ) and subject matter ( Sache ). After this, through the incarnation of the Word, We could walk on the way to Being, namely the linguisticality of understanding in the effective history ( Wirkungsgeschichte )of tradition.
