Under current competitive environment, Taiwan’s IT industry faced a very emulous impact than ever before. Entered 21 century, Taiwan’s IT corporations need to enhance their competitive advanges continually under uncertain surroundings even those companies have occupied a strong position.
The study is based on resource-based theory and the object of study is mainly focused on Taiwan Serevr ODMs. The purpose of selecting MiTAC as case study, it's because MiTAC is Taiwan serve no.1 ODM serever maker, Besides, MiTAC is the biggest ODM makers for Sun and Dell, especially started with zero to be their strategic partners finally. From its growth history, we can understand its core competitiveness and MiTAC how to achieve the no.1 position through the case analysis, in thesis structure; we use five dimensions to examine MiTAC's strategy during its growth. In parallel, we can see the competitive advantages were delivered through its right and aggressive strategy.
In the end, we have come out the conclusions as bellow.In Taiwan ODM server industry, ODM's competitive advantanges are: low cost management capability, time to market capability, efficient supply chain management, and customer relationship. Compared with MiTAC,competitors, those advantages are resulted from MiTAC's R&D and Global logistic management core competence.Those advantanges are delivered the unique value to customer through right strategy formation. In the future; MiTAC can enhance the R&D capability continually, ulilize global logistic management resource to in order to face chanllenging environment
