Due to the effects of personal characteristics, individual role, household resources and environment factors, urban travelers would generate various multiple arrangements of trip chaining, and select an optimal one for desired activity participation. Conditioned to fixed locations of residency and workplace, commuters tend to arrange non-work activities on the way to or form work to reduce the impact on repeated travel. This study, based on the NHTS travel data collected in year 2001, tried to explore the influences of socio-economic factors and non-work activities on chaining by using multiple regression analysis. The mode use in the previous studies of trip chaining was usually functioned as one factor of travel chaining. However, the differences of chaining decisions influenced by mode attributies interacting with other factors were rarely reported, and therefore examined in this study. Dummy-variable approach was adopted in the multiple regression analysis for comparison. The results showed that the regression models able to differentiafe various mode use interacting with chaining performance. Yu-Chun Liao 廖祐君 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 97 zh-TW
