Description
Summary:碩士 === 嘉南藥理科技大學 === 醫療資訊管理研究所 === 95 === More attention had been placed on “patient’s medication safety” in the past few years because of unexpected medication error events causing death or serious physical or psychological injury. This research proposed a bar code administration system that would meet the goals of improving patient medication safety. Introducing bar code technology in the Unit Dose Distribution System, with Automated Medication Dispensing Systems and Computerized Physician Order Entry, it is convenient for the pharmacists to dispense and checkup, and also serves as a valuable tool to check drug names, dosage forms, doses, timing, appearance and even the name of patients for nursing staffs during medication administration. The whole system design divides into the hardware and the software, the hardware-building stages including replacement and revision of the control system chip in the Automated Medication Dispensing system, building the wireless network, setting the tablet PC, the mobile nursing station and the bar code reader. System software including three parts: MS-Windows Sql Server, Web Server and User terminal. The functions of user terminal consist of three parts: Pharmacist Dispensing, Nurse Administering and Data Reporting. The research found that the nursing staff evaluated positively the “prescription change” and “drug administration” of bar code medication administration system. Implementation of the “bar code-checking system” in hospital pharmacies can be effective in medication errors interception and ensuring patient medication safety.
