It is the urgent desire for knowing the mystic essence of the dynamic force of beauty that motivates this study. This study focuses on how to apply in art, the concepts of rhythmic movements, their visualization and meanings for symbolic expressions. Intensive efforts are made though the following three aspects of study: a) understanding the concepts, forms and contents of rhythmic movements in artistic expression, by reviewing related literature; b) analyzing some of the traditional and modern paintings consisted of the rhythmic qualities, for their forms, contents, and symbolic expressions; and 3) intensive efforts of creative production of paintings based on the findings in literature review and analytical study of related artworks, as well as the experiences in life, according to the goals of study. Selected subjects for the paintings, through out this study, are set around the three musical themes, the religious, natural, and lyrical ones, while some formal and technical improvements are tried out for stylistic purposes. In this study, the artists has found himself fully involved in the process of art making, and in a constant seeking for the meaning as well as its implication for human life. The results indicate that the pursuance of rhythmic elements in art has not only broadened his concepts and field of vision about art, but also enhanced his belief in promoting human souls and life, through the aesthetic quality in art. 曾興平 2007 學位論文 ; thesis 97 zh-TW
