Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 機械與航太工程研究所 === 95 === This article investigates two-dimensional thermal convection in a viscoelastic fluid-saturated porous media subjected to unstable temperature gradients. A thermal non-equilibrium model is applied by using two equations to describe heat transfer between the fluid and the solid phases. The Oldroydian constitutive equation and modified Darcy equation are used to simulate the behavior of viscoelastic fluid. A dynamical system with six ODEs is derived by applying the truncated Galerkin expansion to the momentum and heat transfer equation. The system can be regarded as a generalized convective system since it integrates various convective systems reported in the references. Chaotic dynamics of the convective flow are discussed in terms of phase diagrams and Lyapunov exponents. The effect of interphase heat transfer between solid and liquid on the occurence of chaos are stressed and compared with the results of Khayat and Hay system.
