The successes of change rely upon psychological responses of employee and team characteristic. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors influencing the satisfaction and performance outcome after implementing change management such as the introduction of Balanced Scorecard system. The factors consist of attitude toward change and team climate for innovation by staffs in a government-owned hospital of Taiwan. Questionnaires such as the Team Climate Inventory and the Attitude toward Change were administered to the hospital’s staffs. The results suggest that self-reported performance and satisfaction were significantly correlated with attitude toward change of employees and team climate for innovation. However, no significant relationship was found between these factors and Key Performance Indicator. The relationship between attitude toward change of employees and performance outcome is mediated by team climate. Based on the findings, the medical organizations need to build the appropriate climate so that staffs’ negative attitude toward change can be reduced, while satisfaction and performance outcome can be improved.
