The basic measurement principle is the dispersion behavior of anti-symmetric flexural (ASF) mode of wedge wave influenced by the sharpness of the machine tool. The ASF mode propagating along the tool apex has a negative slope while the machine tool has no wearing. This study created models with different geometry to search the major factor influencing the slope of dispersion curves.
