If this risk management can be approached through the examination of the project processes, then an institutionalized, structured risk management model may be established for all people at all time under all situations. CMMI was originally used in the development of software engineering projects, but this study attempts to apply its methodology and framework on non-software engineering projects, with the inclusion of the concept of process management to improve the mechanism of risk management control. As such, this study applies the principle of CMMI to create a praticable management scheme, and then implement this scheme to the construction department of a petroleum production company. The case study focuses on managing the processes among suppliers, aiming to create a standard for a structured capacity management procedure.
