The proposed system adopts critical-conduction mode control and can solve problems arose from continuous-conduction mode control: large reverse recovery loss of diode, large conduction loss, and low transfer efficiency. Additionally, the proposed system integrates the functions of two individual PFC controllers into one single control IC. According to gate-driver signal of master stage, phase-shifted gate-driver signal of slave stage can be triggered. With interleaved control, the proposed system can increase the maximum transfer power and simplify overall boost PFC converter design. Finally, by applying the proposed novel PFC control IC in the interleaved boost converter, simulated results are presented to verify the proposed design.
