Some problems like under-cutting or cutter interference were in simulation based on theory of gearing. A generating simulation program of 3-D gears compiled by Visual C++ and ObjectARX was developed and integrated into AutoCAD platform. The simulation operation consists of drawing cutter and worker and defining transform function of the cutter patch. By using Boolean operation – subtraction to subtract the envelope of cutting patch on the worker. Further, the efficient generating simulation of 2-D gears was developed. Two examples of cylinder gear and bevel gear generating simulation were presented, and the tooth profile error analysis was used to verify that the result of simulation is reliable in addition. According to the result of tooth profile error, some parameter values could be changed for high accuracy tooth profile. Finally, an example is presented to illustrate that this method could solve the problem of tooth with under-cutting. The program is more powerful by using dialog box of the whole course.
