Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 犯罪防治所 === 95 === The primary purpose of this study was to develop a “substance abuse prevention education” course for the junior high school students, and investigate its effects on the knowledge of drugs and the attitude toward substance abuse. This course helps students to establish a solid knowledge background on drugs and laws or regulations of addictive substance abuse. It also provides students some effective skills to reject drugs and change attitude to addictive substances. Moreover, the problem solving capability and the determination to stay far away from drugs are emphasized in the course as well. In our experiments these students are divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group received the proposed substance abuse prevention education for four weeks, while for the control group, all substance abuse related materials are excluded from their courses. There are thirty one students in the experimental group. Seventeen are females, fourteen are males. There are thirty one students in the control group. Sixteen are females, fifteen are males. There are two measures in this study, one is awareness of addictive substance, the other is attitude toward addictive substance. The researcher is the instructor, a junior high school teacher teaching in Pingtung county. After the experiment, the subjects of experimental group have been significantly enhanced the awareness that drugs are harmful, changed their attitudes toward substance abuse, and also improved their assertiveness of rejecting substance abuse and their problem-solving capability. The implications of this work for the prevention education of drug abuse for adolescents are also discussed.
