Summary: | 碩士 === 國立雲林科技大學 === 視覺傳達設計系碩士班 === 94 === This study combined the theoretical framework of Web Aided Instruction with the interview and questionnaire to construct an appropriate web-aided teaching material for the course “Non-linear Video Editing” for the departments of Visual Communication Design in Taiwan colleges and universities. The study is expected to be the reference of providing this course with aided instruction and practice.
The research design is divided into six stages. First, the researcher investigated the current state of the “Non-linear Video Editing” courses in Taiwan. Second, the focus group of thirty students of the department of Visual Communication Design was surveyed in order to analyze the students’ needs for Web Aided Instruction. Third, the researcher interviewed ten students who have learned “Non-linear Video Editing” and five experts to compile the suggestions for course design and lesson plan. Fourth, survey data were gathered from seventy-two students who currently learn “Non-linear Video Editing” to analyze learners’ needs and goals for this course. Fifth, the researcher constructed a web-aided teaching material based on the results of the previous stages of the research. Sixth, the Likert Scale data for assessing the attitude toward the web-aided teaching material were from fifty-four students of the department of Visual Communication Design and seven experts. Thus, the web-aided teaching material was assessed formatively and modified according to the evaluation of the participants.
The results of the evaluation indicate that the learners and experts provided positive feedback on “Course content”, “Interface design and operational property”, and “Visual representation”. However, the participants also proposed some suggestions for further modification. Based on the suggestions, the study concluded that (1) Course design should focus on integrated teaching of the relevant application software of “Non-linear Video Editing”, (2) The representation of the course content should contain video teaching, (3) The visual design should be lively, aesthetic and simplified, and (4) Database should support the function of the system.
