The positive- and negative-sequence equivalent circuits of the induction motor are used to analyze the effects of voltage sags on the induction motor. This thesis also uses the Universal Machine module of the Electromagnetic Transients Program (EMTP) to simulate both steady-state and transient characteristics of the motor under voltage sags to validate the results obtained by the analytical method.
